Many books of Bible have an estimated read time of 15 minutes. When the baby has colic, the office is understaffed, or medical crises bomb your week, don't skip God's word.
Take TIME:
TURN off your phone.
INQUIRE: Ask God, what is this about? Skim the headings and the first/last sections. What seems to be going on?
MARK IT: Begin reading, and leave pencil marks to come back later.
EASY on the applications! The Bible isn't a fortune cookie. Don't grab something random and make it a rule of life. Just aim to notice what God was like in the book, and come back later for deeper study.
You might try reading the same book every day on repeat until things sink in. You could read one short book a day for a month - and get through almost a third of the Bible!
Deep, systematic study is best, but not always feasible. I find this method stops me from giving up altogether. I hope it can help you too!
